Sara has been working and writing online for so many years, she’s unsure if she is still in corporeal form. She considers herself a jack of all trades, but would prefer it if you would stop calling her “Jack.”

Norwegian photographer Harald Albrigtsen was capturing images of the northern lights over Norway when he experienced something incredible — and totally unexpected. He was filming a video for Norwegian public television (NRK) when the process was interrupted by two humpback whales swimming beneath the lights.

Some people might be disturbed by such an unscheduled interruption, but this photographer knew to keep rolling. The appearance of these giants was magical in the green glow beneath the lights.

Sure, the lights are pretty…but so are these visitors.

The whales were spotted off the coast of the island Kvaløya (which is near the city of Tromsø). Like the other Norwegians, they were probably just enjoying the amazing view of the aurora borealis!
