Horrifying Human Deformities On Display At Museum Vrolik Are Truly Disturbing

Museum Vrolik, located in Amsterdam, Netherlands is home to some of the most disturbing human deformities you have ever seen.

The collection on display originally started out as a private collection owned by Gerardus Vrolik (1755-1859) and his son Willem Vrolik (1801-1863). Both men were renowned professors of anatomy at the Athenaeum Illustre, the predecessor of the University of Amsterdam.

In 1869, the collection was purchased by the city of Amsterdam after which it was placed at Amsterdam University.  On display since 1994, curious travelers can stop in for a peek at over 150 various specimens on display. The collection also contains a number of animal deformations.
